Task 1: Dissertation Draft

At this stage, students will begin to put together relevant primary and secondary data to form analysis, discussion and conclusion revolving around their research problem. This is where the draft of the dissertation is the outcome.

Students are to utilize primary and secondary data to write an in- depth evaluation, no less than 7000 words, that critically analyses and discusses their research problem and arrives at a conclusion.

Task 2: Turnitin Submission

Task 3: Visual Design Publication

Task 4Research for Article Publication

- Make a short introduction about what you will be explaining

Week 3
- The discussion still has not answered the RQS
- Add citations

Week 4
- Use sources from primary data
- Add images to show how digital signage recommendations applied

Week 5
- Add quotes from survey respondents

Week 6
- Literature review not finished yet
- There are some parts unexplained and need more sources
- Add more quotes

Week 7
- my literature review does not exceed 600 words. Add the strengths and weaknesses of each paper.

          REFLECTION

Over the last semester in my design research methodology course, I kept underestimating the level of difficulty involved. I have normally read other articles quite quickly to get a gist of their content, which made me complacent and think that this module would not be any different. This, however, was a big mistake. At times, I was overwhelmed, especially when juggling responsibilities from other modules.

This semester, in the design research dissertation module, I have tried to put in my best effort. One of the things that have really excited me in this course is the opportunity to create my own book design. I have always enjoyed the creative process of laying out a design, and I find it particularly exciting to combine elements of signage into a cohesive book format. What is more difficult for me is to stay focused on my draft, mainly regarding the further development of my methodology. Also, I revised my literature review: while writing it, I noticed that many sources I had been working with were too old to be relevant to my research topic anymore. This means I have to find more recent studies to keep my work up-to-date and relevant. Writing the draft often proves to be very challenging, most especially when describing my methodology.

This whole module has taught me so much. I have learned to present my arguments in a more formal manner, with each sentence I built could be substantiated by sufficient evidence and correct citations. The entire design process for a book has been both burdensome and satisfying since I had to apply the principles of creative design in a structured manner.

I would like to extend my greatest appreciation to Dr. Jinchi for her support and guidance during the course of the design research methodology. Her patience and insightful advice have been really instrumental in helping me to improve my analytic aptitude and to make my way out of this complex journey. I truly appreciate all that she has done to assist me in this learning process.
