FEEDBACK
Figure 1.5 Week 14 (07/23/2024) Feedback form.
Week 1
- Ms. Jinchi and other lecturers explained to us what we would be doing in this module.
Week 2
- Specific feedback: My research topic was copyright violation in design, the topic is based on a case where a guy gets fined for using a personal font, and I wanted the research to explain how unaware people are of using illegal design. However, Ms. Jinchi explained that as a graphic design student, this kind of research topic for the proposal is not appropriate, because the topic is very wide. Instead, try to find a research topic that focuses on what you want to know or do as a graphic designer.
Week 3
- Specific feedback: I have another research topic about “the power of visual storytelling in graphic design” However, Ms. Jinchi said I need to explore more.
- The topic sounds more like a title.
- What do you want to achieve/what is the purpose of your proposal?
- Have a clear statement of what you want to convey.
Week 4
- Specific feedback: Your current statement for the research topic is too detailed and wide. Keep it for research problems with a bit more elaboration. The research problem should be 1-2 sentences only. You can use what you have written here as part of the problem statement. It is only accepted 1-2 website articles. The rest must be from research articles. I have too many RQs. Min. 3, max. 3. Choose the ones that are most closely related to your research problem. And both my RQs & ROs must align with each other
Week 5
- Specific feedback: Update your tutorial feedback form. Your RO2 states layout design but your RQ is asking about design principles. Please align.
Week 6
- Specific feedback: Task 1: Cite in APA style. Task 2: My second research article for my critical review is outdated, the article must be at least 5 years before. And continue your task 2 CR3.
Week 7
- Specific feedback: task 2 looks good, you can continue to submit it.
Week 8
- Specific feedback: Elaborate more on why you chose the survey as your research method. It’s up to you if you want to have visual analysis as your method, but your research objectives require people’s perspectives.
Week 9
- Specific feedback: My RQs and ROs are not about asking people’s preferences. Add images when they are necessary for your questions.
Week 10
- Specific feedback: Continuing my survey -Gathering more respondents from my survey.
Week 11
- Specific feedback: Make justification for my questions and analysis from the survey.
Week 12
- Specific feedback: Do research on your own from the reason relating to the respondents' answers.
Week 13
- Specific feedback: Some parts are too long. Since I haven’t finished my PowerPoint slides, please finish them quickly. Some changes to the data analysis
Week 14
- Specific feedback: Make sure your text aligns with each other. Continue on your final report.
REFLECTION
Experience
My experience in this module has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of graphic design, specifically within the context of digital signage. This has provided me with valuable insights into the intricate requirements and essential components necessary for crafting visually captivating signage. Additionally, I've gained a deeper understanding of how people perceive and engage with digital signage, enriching my overall comprehension of this topic of field.
Observation
I understand that conducting thorough research requires a significant amount of time and thoughtful consideration in order to develop a comprehensive explanation and present findings. It is crucial to invest the necessary time and effort into the research process.
Findings
In my research, I've discovered that conducting a research methodology involves various approaches. For instance, in my case, I need to gather people's perspectives and experiences with digital signage. Therefore, I have determined that conducting a survey is more appropriate for my research compared to relying solely on visual analysis.
